Ryan Peterson, DPM, is a skilled podiatrist who diagnoses both common and complicated pathological conditions that affect your feet and your mobility. He treats patients at Southwest Foot & Ankle in St. George, Utah.

Dr. Peterson received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine College of Health Sciences in Glendale. During his medical training, Dr. Peterson served as a student delegate of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society for top students. He was also awarded for being the top student in the study of biomechanics and had the honor of delivering the commencement speech at his graduation ceremony.

After completing his educational requirements, Dr. Peterson went on to pursue surgical training and finished a podiatric residency through Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System in Aurora. Dr. Peterson also trained under renowned surgeons throughout New York State and in Virginia Beach, Seattle, Denver, and Colorado Springs. During his residency, Dr. Peterson received the “Good Hands” award for the top surgical resident.

While Dr. Peterson tries to treat conditions conservatively first, he’s able to provide the latest treatment solutions when available. Throughout his training, Dr. Peterson has spent time studying every major surgical specialty. He has advanced training in plastic surgery, vascular procedures, orthopedic surgery, and general surgery. Dr. Peterson even fulfilled a dermatopathology fellowship in Atlanta, Georgia.

Because of his background as a multisport athlete, Dr. Peterson can diagnose and treat all aspects of sports medicine and alternative sports injuries. Dr. Peterson understands a patient’s desire to return to competition as soon as possible. He offers training in sports psychology and human performance to help athletes perform at their best.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Peterson enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and three daughters. In his spare time, Dr. Peterson likes to ride motorcycles, hike, explore, and coach his children’s sports teams.
