What You Need To Know
A foot problem rarely stays small on its own. Getting an accurate diagnosis early is the fastest path to lasting relief.
Precision Diagnosis Meets Everyday Foot Problems
At the Advanced Foot and Ankle Center, general foot care means one thing: figuring out exactly what’s wrong before recommending what to do about it. Our board-certified podiatrists see everything from an ingrown toenail that’s been ignored too long to a heel that’s ached for months with no clear cause — and everything in between, including fractures, tendon injuries, and skin or nail conditions that need a trained eye.
No two patients land in our chairs for the same reason: – A child who jammed a toe during practice or developed an ingrown nail from new cleats – A working adult whose plantar fasciitis has started affecting how they walk through a normal day – An older adult managing arthritis, neuropathy, or balance issues that need ongoing attention – An athlete who needs a fast, accurate read on an injury so a season isn’t lost to guesswork
We lean on advanced diagnostic imaging and treatment technology to shorten the distance between “something’s wrong” and “here’s the plan.” Most conditions we see respond to non-surgical care. When surgery is genuinely the better option, our surgeons offer both traditional and minimally invasive approaches.
The Anatomy Behind the Ache
Each foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, and more than 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments, all coordinating with every single step. That complexity is exactly why minor foot issues can escalate quickly if left unaddressed — a small imbalance in one area puts strain on another. Whether you’re on your feet all day at work, training for something specific, or just tired of discomfort with no obvious cause, catching problems early keeps a minor fix from becoming a major one.
Your Visit, Step by Step
Here’s what a typical first appointment looks like: – Evaluation: We start with a focused conversation about your symptoms — what started them, how long they’ve lasted, and how they’re affecting your day-to-day. – On-site imaging: Our offices offer digital X-ray on-site, so in most cases you won’t need a separate imaging appointment elsewhere. – Clear diagnosis: We explain what we found in plain terms — no jargon you have to look up later. – Treatment plan, starting conservative: Depending on the diagnosis, options may include: – Targeted stretching and activity modification – Supportive or custom footwear recommendations – Custom orthotics – Physical therapy – In-office procedures such as injections or laser treatment – Surgical, only if needed: If conservative care isn’t enough, we’ll walk you through surgical options and what recovery looks like.
If your injury happened at work, and you have an open workers comp case, we will work directly with the worker’s compensation administrator to obtain approval for services. And because timing matters with acute injuries, we usually have same-day appointment slots open specifically for patients who need to be seen fast.
We also treat prevention as part of the visit, not an afterthought — recommending the right footwear for your foot type, showing you stretches that reduce strain, and flagging early signs of neuropathy or arthritis before they progress.
