What You Need To Know

How our advanced tools and techniques support faster, more comfortable care.

Advanced Foot and Ankle Technology

At Advanced Foot and Ankle Center, our doctors utilize the most advanced technologies in foot and ankle care to provide the most effective and comfortable treatments possible. Recovering from a foot or ankle injury can often involve months of rehabilitation, but we can use these tools, technologies, and techniques to make a fast, accurate diagnosis and plan a more effective treatment for you.

These new technologies are less invasive and more accurate than ever before, which means you can be back on your feet in a shorter time and experience less pain. Some of the technology we use in our office includes QuantaFlo PAD testing, digital X-rays and ultrasounds, and laser treatments of fungal nail.

The QuantaFlo PAD test is a non-invasive, fast procedure that allows us to get an accurate reading on the blood flow to your arms and legs. It is a little like having your blood pressure measured. Once complete, the software analyzes and compares circulation between your arms and legs to help determine whether you are at risk for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), which often has few noticeable symptoms until it becomes severe.

Diagnostic ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique for soft tissue used to diagnose foot disorders. A special probe emits sound waves that return an image of ligaments, the Achilles tendon, the plantar fascia, the posterior tibial tendon, and the peroneal tendons. If you are dealing with foot or ankle pain, our team can help you determine the right diagnostic and treatment path.

Laser Therapy and Surgical Options

Thanks to laser treatment, it is possible to stop fungal infections early on, reducing the risk of potentially serious complications. Laser treatment uses targeted light energy to heat up and kill onychomycosis, a common but resilient fungus that infects the toenails. Because the laser does not destroy the entire infection in one visit, we typically recommend a series of 4 to 6 appointments spaced a week or two apart.

FX635 Laser is a Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), sometimes called a cold laser, used to address acute and chronic pain including heel pain related to plantar fasciitis. Patients can expect no pain, no drugs, no side effects, and no downtime. LLLT alters cellular functions to reduce oxidative stress and increase the production of ATP, helping fuel healing without medications or lengthy recoveries.

When conservative treatments fail or damage is severe, foot and ankle surgery may offer the best chance for restored mobility and function. Procedures include ankle replacement, tendon and ligament repair, and repair of fractures and dislocations using plates or screws. Subchondral stabilization is a minimally invasive option used to repair microfractures and bone marrow edema, injecting a bone substitute that is replaced by new bone during healing.

Arthroscopic surgery uses small incisions and slim surgical tools to treat the bones and soft tissues of the foot or ankle, offering smaller scars, less blood loss, and a swifter recovery. Talk with our team to learn which advanced option best fits your condition and recovery goals.
